Fifteen years ago, we formed a group of volunteers made up of corrections personnel to help families and communities after they suffered through a natural disaster. Since that time we have worked on projects throughout the country to rebuild and restore parks giving children and their families a safe and fun place to play. This year on the week of October 9th we are embarking on a project in Lost Creek, Kentucky, where a disastrous flood in July 2022 took numerous lives and destroyed many homes.
Make-A-Smile is a non-profit organization comprised of corrections professionals dedicated to helping those whose lives have been devastated by floods and other natural disasters.
